Helping Our neighbors…

The Covid pandemic exposed the growing mental health crisis in our country.

Although our newcomer friends demonstrate incredible resilience as they navigate their traumatic pasts and the challenges of settling in a new country, they are at high risk for depression, anxiety, complex PTSD and other mental health challenges. The same is true for other marginalized folks in our community.

These neighbors face huge obstacles in accessing needed resources and care. In addition, unique cultural stigmas and shame surrounding mental health issues silences those who realize they need help. We have observed that women and children are especially at risk and have the least ability to get these desperately needed resources. This is why we are pivoting the majority of our time, attention, and resources to meeting the need to support mental wellness.

We also want to bring awareness to the community at large of the needs of these precious friends. We want to inspire and ultimately motivate others into action.
