Our Refugees

Imagine having to flee your home with those you love because of war, violence and persecution have threatened to take your life. After years of living in fear, in temporary housing, you are moved to a new country. It’s an amazing chance to start over; however, it soon becomes overwhelming finding a job, learning a new language, struggling to keep your family safe and fed. Thousands of refugees in Salt Lake City face these challenges everyday.
These groups we currently serve are Somali Bantu, Burmese, Burundi, Somali majority, Karen, Ahiska-Turks, and Sudanese. You can find additional information about these groups and other refugees at www.culturalorientation.net
